Since the Chiayi Plant (plastic pipe factory) was established in 1980, Nan Ya Plastics Corporation has been thoroughly maintaining and upgrading its equipment to guarantee personnel safety and product quality. In addition, both the mixing process of raw materials and the extrusion process were brought into the automatic monitoring system to ensure stable product quality during the manufacturing process, and production information can be well centralized by the programmable controller. Last, Nan Ya has been striving to research, develop, and boost product quality via big data analytics.

In early 1980s where the pipe plant was established, its monthly capacity was 5,500 tons. However, following market expansion and equipment improvements, the pipe formula replaced lead with tin in 1995, so the monthly capacity increased dramatically to 19,042 tons in 1997. Apart from increasing monthly capacity, the market share in Taiwan concerning Nan Ya plastic pipes had reached 62% at that time. Furthermore, Nan Ya had been developing special pipes for diverse applications. Take three new products for examples, some of which are ASTM UPVC pipes, which are applicable to electronics factories; heat resistant CPVC pipes, which are suitable for hot springs and high temperature thermal fluids; impact resistant pipes, which are used in earthquake-stricken areas in Taiwan. Starting from 2016, Nan Ya begun to set up the Cyber-Physical System (CPS); then, the laboratory of plastic pipes was certified by TAF National Laboratory Accreditation in 2017. Finally, based on Industry 4.0, Nan Ya has successfully established the smart factory, being dedicated to enhancing its capacity and Research & Development of plastic pipes. More importantly, Nan Ya has strong confidence of providing customers with the highest-quality products and top-notch services.
